Book Launch and Reading: Nikki Reimer, Anita Dolman, Nancy Jo Cullen

Calgary-based poet Nikki Reimer will launch and read from her recently released third book of poetry, 'My Heart is a Rose Manhattan' (Talon Books, 2019).

Anita Dolman, an Ottawa-based poet and fiction writer, and Nancy Jo Cullen, a Kingston-based award-winning author and poet, will each read from their own work.

All with the support of the League of Canadian Poets and Canada Council for the Arts.

Bios:

Nancy Jo Cullen is the the 4th recipient of the Writers’ Trust Dayne Ogilvie Prize for LGBT Emerging Writer. Her fiction and poems have appeared in Best Canadian Poetry 2018, The Journey Prize, The Puritan, Grain, filling Station, Plenitude, Prairie Fire, This Magazine, Room and Arc Poetry Magazine. She has published 3 collections of poetry with Calgary’s Frontenac House Press. Her short story collection, Canary, was published in 2013 by Biblioasis. Her novel, The Western Alienation Merit Badge is published by Wolsak and Wynn. She is mid-way through her fourth collection of poetry titled Nothing Will Save Your Life.

Anita Dolman is the author of Lost Enough: A collection of short stories, and co-editor of Motherhood in Precarious Times, an anthology of poetry and non-fiction. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in numerous journals, magazines and anthologies, including Another Dysfunctional Cancer Poem Anthology, Canadian Ginger, Hamilton Arts & Letters, Arc Poetry Magazine, On Spec, Grain, PRISM international, The Antigonish Review, and Triangulation: Lost Voices. She is the author of two poetry chapbooks, was a finalist for the 2015 Alberta Magazine Award for fiction, and is a contributing editor for Arc Poetry Magazine.

Nikki Reimer is a carbon-based life form who lives on the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta. She writes poetry, essays and criticism, yells on the internet, and makes digital art. Published books are My Heart is a Rose Manhattan, DOWNVERSE and [sic]; several more are in-progress. Creative and non-fiction work has appeared on stages, billboards, public art exhibits, pop-up bistro menus, and in various magazines, journals and anthologies.
